Balance & Map Changes:

  • New mode! Casual mode. In this mode the player is able to get into the action much faster. Great for new players. Players are automatically put into multiplayer vs. mode.
  • New map! Lava Burps.
  • Changed lava on Triton Volcanoes.
  • Resolved issue with Divide and Conquer where lightning was spawning too often.

Gameplay Related:

  • Updated noob shield to better indicate the direction the ship is facing.
  • Halved Juggernaut charge time.

Miscellaneous:

  • Removed option from “Team Select” menu to exit to the main menu.
  • Added option for all players to hold “right rotation” to exit player select menu and choose what mode they want to play.
  • Added indicator to the player select “practice mode” to better inform the player.
  • Added more voice over.

Operator Related:

  • Added option to increase the bullet speed.

Balance & Map Changes:

  • Beast ship turn speed slightly increased
  • Bouncy pads added to Triton Volcano and Quad Cave maps
  • Bouncy pads enlarged and some repositioning on UnoDashUno and Warp Station maps

Gameplay Related:

  • Ships emit smoke from their nose when their on-screen-bullet-capacity has been reached.  The sound effect for button presses during this has changed as well.
  • Humans jump higher and float at their peak a bit thus are easier to pick up
  • Picking up a human cuts the special shot charge time in half, AND does it again if you get another human (it also adds normal bullets as it did prior)
  • On explosion, ships will drop however many humans were inside of it (ex:  So if you picked up 2 humans, on explosion your ship will drop 3 humans!)
  • After 60 seconds of gameplay, only one fuel will spawn
  • When shot with an EMP, a player can “jumpstart” their ship and gain control if they tap the buttons enough times
  • The lightning frequency has been reduced
  • Initials can now be entered for fast times in Single Player
  • The sprites for the targets and beacons in single player have changed
  • The sound effect for Single Player beacon touching has changed

Miscellaneous:

  • Added “CHOOSE” on the main menu for when choosing a game mode
  • Debris goes flying and a different sound effect plays when making game mode choices on the main menu so it is clearer to the user they have selected something
  • Some additional voice over phrases added
  • Skipping the controls information takes fewer button presses

Operator Related:

  • Option to zero out credits added
  • Renamed some things in the settings menu

Gameplay Related:

  • Many changes were made to optimize how the game runs. Frame rate decreases were sometimes seen after the game had been running for long periods of time, these changes should help that.
  • Fixed a bug that would move the carousel to the “Back to Main Menu” option instead of the last available team.
  • Adjusted boxes on Bouncy Blvd.
  • Opened up the terrain a little on Alien Achitecture.
  • Humans dropped in race mode no longer prompt to “Press Shoot” since they don’t ever spawn with a gun in hand.

Balance Changes:

  • New Map: Divide & Conquer! This was a fan submission in a contest held at Midwest Gaming Classic 2018!
  • Fixed an issue that stopped the player from firing already fully charged shot if they ran out of fuel after charging

Gameplay Related:

  • Revamped player select screen
  • Added option to “Go Back” to each carousel menu on player select
  • Changed controls on all menus so that thrust also makes selections
  • Now after the player is done selecting team, ship, and charge shot they are spawned into the player select screen and can practice flying and shooting
  • After a short period, enemy ships are spawned for the player to shoot
  • If the player runs low on fuel, a fuel is spawned for them to be able to practice acquiring
  • Modified the controls transition screen to better state the controls to the user. This screen can be skipped by pressing multiple buttons quickly
  • Tweaked warp in sound effect

  • Juggernaut acceleration slightly increased
  • Additional 1 sec added to ship invincibility time when NOT pressing shoot, pressing fire reduces the invincibility to the original amount or cancels it if that time has already passed.

 

Gameplay Related:

  • Win condition screen modified
  • VS, Team, Boss, and Single Player transition screens modified
  • “New Race 4” map renamed to “Bouncy Boulevard” and received its own map voting image
  • Juggernaut ship now drops small debris on impacts to more clearly show it took damage
  • “Be the Boss” mode now available in coin-op mode
  • “Single Player” mode renamed to “Target Practice: Single Player”
  • Single Player carousel reorganized so maps are in order from easy to hard
  • Backgrounds added to a couple maps that did not have them
  • Sound effect added:  Button press when on-screen bullet capacity has been reached

  • Adjusted some sound effect volumes to make them easier to hear

  • Voice over added when trying to play the game with no credits

  • Moved “Press Shoot to Join” on player select to be more visible
  • Updated noob ship detail to encourage new players to use that ship
  • Renamed ship difficulties, again hoping to encourage new players to use the noob ship
